LA COUPOLE in Helfaut-Wizernes

Built 5 km from Saint-Omer, LA COUPOLE is the generic name for a vast complex, mainly underground, designed for the storage and launch of A4 (V2) rockets after the destruction of the launch bunker at Éperlecques.

The site bears the name of the enormous reinforced concrete dome that protects the octagonal launch preparation hall. In 1997, it was transformed into a major history and scientific culture museum.
