The project that led to the creation of LA COUPOLE was based on several main principles:

The necessity of using an authentic site, symbolic of the Second World War.

The separation between the visitor reception service, in the open air, and the underground
scenographic presentation, with no contact with the daylight.

The intersection between a historical and a scientific approaches.

The priority given to the image, in all its forms, both as a document and as a way to convey
information.

An identical historical programme for visitors of different nationalities, a true European
history.

The choice of a restricted historical programme, organised around several major
fundamental themes.

The refusal to surrender to sensationalism and easy emotion.

The primacy given to reason.

The necessity to provide access to the historical programme to a very diverse public, with no
elitist barriers.

The possibility of making the tour independently, thanks to an audio-guided headset system.
